1. Overview
We understand that plans change. This policy outlines our standard cancellation and refund terms. Please note that individual Property Partners may have their own policies, which will be clearly displayed during the booking process.
The specific cancellation policy for your booking is shown on the property listing page and in your booking confirmation email.
2. Standard Cancellation Policy
Our standard cancellation policy is based on how far in advance you cancel before your check-in date:
120+ days before check-in
Cancel with peace of mind
60-119 days before check-in
Partial refund available
30-59 days before check-in
No refund, but you may be able to reschedule
Less than 30 days before check-in
No refund available
3. How to Cancel
To cancel your booking:
- Log in to your Africa NowNow account
- Go to "My Bookings" in your dashboard
- Select the booking you wish to cancel
- Click "Request Cancellation"
- Confirm your cancellation request

4. Refund Processing
4.1 Timeline
Once a cancellation is confirmed, refunds are typically processed within:
- Processing time: 5-7 business days
- Bank/card statement: Additional 5-10 business days depending on your bank
4.2 Refund Method
Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the booking. We cannot refund to a different card or account.
4.3 Service Fees
Platform service fees are non-refundable unless the cancellation is due to our error or the Property Partner's inability to honor the booking.
5. Modifications & Rescheduling
If you need to change your travel dates rather than cancel entirely, please contact us as soon as possible. We will work with the Property Partner to accommodate changes where possible.

6. Special Circumstances
6.1 Force Majeure
In cases of force majeure (natural disasters, civil unrest, pandemics, government travel restrictions), we will work with you and the Property Partner to find a fair solution, which may include:
- Full credit for future travel
- Date changes without penalty
- Partial or full refund depending on circumstances
6.2 Property Partner Cancellation
If a Property Partner cancels your booking, you will receive a full refund including all fees. We will also assist in finding alternative accommodation where possible.
6.3 Medical Emergencies
For cancellations due to medical emergencies, please contact us directly with supporting documentation. We may be able to offer more flexible terms on a case-by-case basis.
7. No-Shows
If you do not arrive for your booking without canceling in advance (a "no-show"), no refund will be provided. The full booking amount will be charged to the Property Partner.
8. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that includes trip cancellation coverage. This can protect you from financial loss due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, family emergencies, or travel disruptions.
9. Disputes
If you believe a refund has been incorrectly calculated or you have concerns about your cancellation, please contact us at support@africanownow.com. We will review your case and respond within 5 business days.
